Every year, The Pakubuwono Menteng takes important steps to ensure the safety of its residents and staff through the Annual Fire and Evacuation Drill. This drill is like a practice session where everyone learns how to respond quickly and effectively in case of a fire or other emergency.

Collaborating closely with the Central Jakarta Fire Department, The Pakubuwono Menteng organized a comprehensive drill to assess and enhance emergency response procedures. The fire department’s involvement ensured that all aspects of safety were thoroughly examined, from personnel readiness to the functionality of safety equipment.

During the drill, personnel from the fire department meticulously inspected all personnel and safety equipment to ensure compliance with established safety protocols. This included checking the functionality of fire extinguishers, emergency exits, alarm systems, and other safety measures. The goal was to guarantee that in the event of a real emergency, all systems would be operational and personnel adequately trained to respond effectively.

The most recent drill took place on February 29, 2024. It was planned carefully to make it feel like a real emergency. The goal was simple: to see how well the Emergency Response Team (ERT) could handle a fire situation and to check if everything needed for an emergency was available and working properly. The drill also served as a reminder of The Pakubuwono Menteng’s unwavering commitment to resident safety. By conducting regular drills and working closely with local authorities, we ensure that residents can enjoy peace of mind knowing that their safety is a top priority.

The drill started at 9:00 AM with a fake fire alarm on the 25th floor. This signaled that there might be a fire, so the ERT got into action mode right away. They used radios and other devices to talk to each other and figure out what to do next. They also contacted the fire department for help. At the same time, the building’s alarm went off, warning everyone that there was a problem. A message was broadcast to let everyone know what was happening and what they should do to stay safe.

During the drill, everyone involved showed how well they could work together. Security guards, maintenance staff, and team leaders all played important roles. They checked the building, helped evacuate safely, and ensured everyone knew where to go. As the drill continued, people were evacuated calmly and safely according to the plan. Everyone followed the instructions and visited the designated meeting points outside the building.

Key objectives of the drill included:

  • Assessing the effectiveness of the Emergency Response Team in both response and action.
  • Evaluating the efficiency of response procedures, particularly during nighttime or low-supervision scenarios.
  • Verifying the adequacy of emergency equipment and facilities to support response activities.

The drill concluded with a debriefing session, allowing participants to reflect on their performance, identify areas for improvement, and share lessons learned. Feedback and observations gathered during the drill will further enhance emergency preparedness measures and refine response protocols.

The Annual Fire and Evacuation Drill at The Pakubuwono Menteng is an important event that helps keep everyone safe. By practicing what to do in an emergency, residents and staff can feel more prepared and confident, knowing they can handle whatever comes their way.
