GENERAL MANAGERS MESSAGE

Dear Residents,

A warm Welcome to the new members of The Pakubuwono Residence family! We hope that you have a wonderful time here, meeting new friends and neighbors, and simply enjoying the good life in a truly splendid setting. Let us know how we can make your move and transition to your new home more pleasant and smooth. Our staff and Tenant Relations Officer are on hand to serve you .

I would like to also reflect on the recent earthquake which affected Jakarta. Indeed, the strong undersea earthquake off Java which jolted the city just shortly after midnight of August 8th reminds us to be always prepared in an event of an emergency. Do refer to the special section on Emergency Procedures in the House Rules and Regulations for guidance. Most importantly, stay calm at all times and do not panic. We are here to ensure your safety and rest assured that yours and your family's well being is our first and foremost concern. Thank you for your trust in us.

I also take this opportunity to once more reassure you and your family, as in our previous announcements after the quake, that our structural engineering consultants have completed a check of all buildings and structures and have declared “The Pakubuwono Residence, Apartment Complex” safe and sound.

As you may also know, we continually reassess and review security procedures and implement improvement measures regularly bearing in mind our residents' added protection. Therefore, due to security reasons, the entrance gate at Jalan Ophir (at the north side of The Pakubuwono Residence) will be closed between 2300 hrs to 0600 hrs to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Moreover, we have also installed 2 additional fire extinguishers at the service corridors on each floor in all towers as an added fire safety feature.

A reminder…in case you have not done so already, we would like to advise owners to insure the contents of their respective units. Insurance coverage offers us peace of mind and protection in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or setback.

Another significant development is happening in our complex. Excavation and piling works will commence behind the southern part of our complex, commencing in mid September. Please bear with us and we apologize for the inconvenience caused. We will keep you updated on the work schedule. Thank you for your understanding.

Inside, we feature the Flower of the Month, which is the “Butter Cup Tree”, also known as “Cochlospermum Vitifolium”. It can be found at the south and north side of the garden. Warmest Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Mr. Basirun our civil technician. You have done a great job in maintaining the buildings good looking, through continuous painting and touch up work, we are proud to have you in our team!

The Holy Month of Ramadhan starts on September 13th. This marks the most important and a very meaningful event in the life of our friends as they prepare themselves in prayer and sacrifice during the Ramadan. Selamat Berbuka Puasa!

BUTTERCUP TREE

Once a year in the dry season, this medium-sized tree from tropical America sheds its deeply lobed leaves and puts forth a splendid display of large flowers, which resemble a camellia in shape and have bright gold petals and orange stamens. The flowers, either single or double, continue to appear for several months and fall to create a dazzling carpet around the base of the tree.

NOTE: IN CASE OF POWER INTERRUPTIONS:

  1. The Lift will stop automatically and the emergency light will be on.
  2. During this time the lift will stop at the nearest floor, either up or down and the door will open.
  3. Emergency Generators power back up will energize within approximately 45 seconds and the lift will be back in operation

Although Building Management ensures that the buildings are adequately covered by insurance, please be reminded that it is the owner’s responsibility, at his own expense, to insure his unit, all contents in the unit, including fixtures and fittings, floor materials, carpets and any other personal valuables.

HEALTH TIP: THE IMPORTANCE OF CALCIUM

Calcium is a necessary mineral to build and preserve strong bones, strong and healthy teeth, and healthy muscles and tissues.

Plenty of calcium at a young age -- particularly in adolescence -- is very important to protecting bones later in life and preventing osteoporosis.

Bone mass continues to grow until about age 30 or 35. Calcium in milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products will help build bone mass. The mineral can also be found in leafy green vegetables, dried beans and fruits, and nuts like almonds.

Because the cells in bones are constantly being destroyed and reproduced, the body needs to take in more calcium than what it processes. If enough calcium isn't consumed, more bone tissue is destroyed than is created and bones are weakened.

The Harvard School of Public Health recommends about 550 milligrams of calcium per day, but that quantity can vary by age. The recommendation is 1000 milligrams a day for people between the ages of 19-50, and 1,200 milligrams a day for people aged 50 and older
