GENERAL MANAGERS MESSAGE

Dear Residents,
Another year almost gone by! December always brings all of us to a special time…a time to reflect, a time for giving and sharing, a time to love and spread cheer. Reflecting on 2007 at The Pakubuwono Residence, no doubt, it was a very exciting 2nd year. TPR realized almost 100% occupancy, unheard of in recent residential developments in the city. This shows us that we have proven that TPR retains its NO. 1 position as the preferred home for our owners and for our investors who have successfully leased their units to international companies for their top executives. It reflects very well on TPR's first rate operations and services and the hardworking individuals behind the scene who deliver and ensure a superior lifestyle for each and every resident. And of course, our residents who as well play a major part, for without their full support and cooperation we would not have achieved as much as we did.

The year past also brought natural blows to our city. The major flooding of Jakarta in early February caused misery to many but also brought the best in us when we as a community shared our blessings to those who were affected. Once again, we thank all of you for your contribution to our flood relief program. It certainly brought cheer to the families and children of kampongs, Rajawati Kalibata, and Rawa Badak Selatan. This indeed reminds us to live Christmas every day! And of course the almost forgotten earthquakes which shook Jakarta brings to mind that although there was no cause for worry or panic, preparedness and knowledge of what we have to do is a good thing to share with members of our family and household. The year's end with Christmas in the air brings us to a special time to be cheerful and joyful. Whether you are planning to spend the season's holiday with family and friends back in your hometown or simply just taking a short break from all the busyness and hectic schedules of the year, there suddenly is a rush to do everything at the same time, booking holiday trips, shopping and gift giving, cards to send and parties to hold. Enjoy yourselves, have a great time and we wish you all the joys of the season!
And as someone wrote:

a little smile, a word of cheer, a bit of love from someone near,
a little gift from one held dear, these make a Merry Christmas!

From all of us here at The Pakubuwono Residence, we wish you and your families the best of the Holiday Season. It's been a fantastic year meeting you, serving you and making new friends every day. Your support is very much appreciated and we are honored to have your trust in our team. In closing, I would like to refer to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow on his famous quote:
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on Earth, good will to men!

May this Season bring into your hearts and your homes peace, love and happiness!

With best personal wishes,
Detlef Skrobanek

POINSETTIA - CHRISTMAS STAR

Latin Name: Euphorbia pulcherrima.

Local Name: Bunga Natal

English Name: Christmas Star

The poinsettia's species name pulcherrima means "most beautiful" and that it is! Poinsettia's brilliant red floral display held against rich green foliage has made this unlikely species a holiday favorite. Its appealing presentation of the traditional Christmas colors has so endeared poinsettia that it is now second only to the Christmas tree as the most popular holiday plant. Euphorbia pulcherrima.

A Mexican legend explains how poinsettias came to be associated with Christmas. Apparently, a child who could not afford a gift to offer to Christ on Christmas Eve picked some weeds from the side of a road. The child was told that a humble gift, if given in love, would be acceptable in God's eyes. When brought into the church, the weeds bloomed into red and green flowers and the congregation felt they had witnessed a Christmas miracle.

TIPS: TURNING YOUR POWER BACK ON

If you lose power in your apartment, but see that your neighbors still
have theirs, here's what you can do. Turn off the lights or appliances you were using and check the circuit breaker panel to find the tripped switch. A tripped circuit breaker may look like it's still on, or the handle may have moved to an intermediate position. That's why it's a good idea to label

your circuits. To reset a circuit breaker switch, move it to off, then to on. If the switch is a push button, it will pop out. Push it all the way in to reset it. If the breaker trips again when you turn on the lights or appli- ances you were using, you are probably overloading the circuit. When that happens, you may need to move an appliance to a different circuit by plugging it in somewhere else. If you still have no electricity after you've reset your circuit breakers, try turning off the main breaker switch and all your circuit breaker switches. Then, turn on the main
breaker switch and reset each circuit breaker switch.

HOW TO MAINTENANCE YOUR FIRE EXTINGUISHER

If seal still is intact
that ensure the extinguisher has not been used yet

Check air pressure inside at pressure gauge
indicator, Indicator should be at right position
(Green position) It means the pressure is good
and ready for use

Check the hose, ensure the hose has no crack and
the hose must be free from obstacles.

To ensure the chemical powder inside is in a good
condition, shake the extinguisher a few times every
month

INSIDE HEALTH QUESTION

Question:

How can I use weight training to burn more calories?

Answer:

You've heard the old saying, "muscle weighs more than fat." That's true, therefore muscle burns more calories than fat. So increasing muscle also helps you lose weight. To maximize your calorie burning during weight training, increase repetitions rather than increasing weight to build

strength without bulking up. Take very short rest periods between sets (no more than 45 seconds) to speed up metabolism and also burn more calories.
